From our earliest NPL home programme which features both our manager Alan Hampson and long standing trainer Tommy Mairs
Arthur Goldstein holds the record for most South first team appearances 557 between 1959 and 1975 while Gerry Keegan played between 1959 and 1970 and amassed 545.
Dave Harding went on to play for Australia in the 1970's and was in the 1974 Socceroo's that went to the World Cup finals in Germany.
Here is the first grainy team picture we have of South Liverpool's Reserves as we moved into the NPL with the reserves in the Liverpool County Combination in August 1968
They were under new reserves coach Johnny Bennison, who replaced George Corbin. Johnny had been recruited by Allen Hampson from Wavertree based club Earle albeit he was an ex South player himself.
South are pictured in our then away strip of Blue shirts and socks with black shorts.
